Radyne designs and manufactures a comprehensive range of Line Pipe Pre-heating coils. These are available in many standard sizes for induction heating of line pipe ranging from 8 inch (200mm) to 120 inch (3m) in diameter.
- Designed for ease of mobility within the pipe mill. Integral wheels fitted to the base of each induction coil enable quick and easy movement from one line to the next
- Heavy Duty Jacks allow simple and efficient and precise vertical positioning
- Lifting eyes fitted to the top of each coil similarly facilitate lifting via crane thus enabling quick and easy positioning onto the pipe coating line
- Designed to provide a highly efficient means of surface drying prior to coating
Advanced Technology Tools Deliver Superior Results The Radyne engineering team employs Inductotherm Group Proprietary Computer Aided Coil Design and Temperature Modeling to provide rapid and accurate solutions. Radyne applications engineers utilize this modeling technology to rapidly determine the operating performance, physical dimensions and number of induction heating coils required to pre-heat a range of API pipe sizes prior to coating. Over the Ditch Preheat for Weld, Field Joint Coating, and Weld Stress Relief Radyne provides proven mobile pipe heating technology suitable for field deployments. Whether on a lay vessel, or over the ditch, Radyne pipe heating systems are ideally suited for preheating for welding, coating, and stress relief. Radyne's Merlin system integrates heating and coating in one operation to increase throughput while facilitating coating operations for both S and J lay platforms. Merlin applies a precise two-coat FBE and copolymer coating delivering vastly improved cycle times and quality, vertical or horizontal application, and minimum manning levels. The benefits of the Merlin system have been proven on several international pipeline projects. Radyne's Merlin heat and coat field joint system that was used in the challenging Blue Stream project involving the laying of pipe at record depths across the bed of the Black Sea. In concert with the pipe processing industry's continual drive to reduce operational timescales, breakdowns, interruptions, failures and costs, across the field joint coating arena in particular, Radyne has developed specialist fixed and portable solutions for use on land, at sea, and in some of the world's most inhospitable locations.
Radyne can design, manufacture and supply complete fixed and portable coating systems for both on and offshore installations around the world. Often tailored to meet particularrequirements, Radyne solutions can be self-contained to include generator sets where applicable. Radyne can supply complete installations for specific processes incorporating induction power supplies, heating coils, controls, automatic powder applicators and cooling systems. Where necessary, these systems can be fully installed into containers for both onshore and offshore operations, with only mains services being required. • Line pipe & field joint coatings • Merlin girth weld heat & coat technology • Pre and post-weld heat treatment • Fully containerized systems • J-lay” heat & coat units • “S-lay”heat & coat solutions • Quad and double-joint rack technology • Over-ditch heat & coat solutions • Surface-moisture pipe drying solutions • Flexitune holiday repair equipment Whether the requirement is for a comprehensive “turnkey” system, an upgrade, or addition to an existing process, Radyne offers the ability to heat-treat in a clean, safe environment and for our customers to benefit from long-term savings. |

Fundamental to the process of butt welding, to ensure the integrity of the welded joint, the Radyne induction heat process provides the perfect method of heating pipes to the correct temperature within closed limits. Suitable for end heat, interpass heating and “stress relieve” post heating of welding joints, Radyne can supply fixed or opening coils. |
