Development Team Leader
Description of work:
- Will lead a small, top flight team of
engineers in the design, development and test of the next generation of
advanced power electronics and controls products for induction heating.
- Will interface with other Inductotherm Group
personnel to define and execute our product and technology roadmap for power
supplies ranging from 2 kW to 5MW and with output frequencies from 60Hz to 50MHz.
Power semiconductors used in these power systems include SCRs, IGBTs, MOSFETs,
BJT’s and fast recovery rectifiers. Technologies utilized will include active PFC,
harmonic reduction, SMPS, PWM and resonant mode ZVS and ZCS. Duties will
include leading engineers developing power electronic, magnetic and control
circuits using microprocessors, microcontrollers and FPGA, requiring component
modeling, circuit simulation, FEA / Numerical analysis for design of thermal,
magnetic and structural performance, development of prototypes, engineering
configuration aids, and operational testing.
Qualifications:
- BSEE required, MSEE desired, PhD. a
plus
- 5
to 10 years design and test of power electronic systems.
- Experience managing a small team
of engineers in development of power supplies, inverters, converters or motor
drives.
- Must be able to convey technical
vision clearly and simply to customers and management.
- Must be able to travel periodically
to participate as part of our international power supply development team.
- Knowledge of applying microprocessors
/ microcontrollers and FPGAs to control inverters, converters or motor drives.
- Knowledge of power semiconductor
characteristics and ratings.
- Must have good technical writing
and oral communication skills.
- Experience with high power and
high frequency switching of IGBT and/or MOSFET transistors required.
