Non Ferrous Brass, Copper, Aluminum Static Taper HeatingInductotherm Group’s development of phase synchronized multi-zone power modules has made accurate static taper heating possible. A static taper heating coil is divided into a number of independently controlled zones each with its own thermocouples executing it's own power profile. This enables optimum temperature control and synchronization of the modules ensures that there is a seemless transition zone to zone. |

Non Ferrous Dynamic Taper HeatingThe most precise temperature profile is achieved dynamically. The billet is heated to a base temperature statically after which the billet is ejected from the coil at a precisely controlled speed providing an accurate temperature profile. During the dynamic heating eject mode, each heating phase is switched off as the field extender passes through in order to save energy. |

Booster Taper HeatingThe Banyard “Booster” has established itself as a low cost, highly compact induction boost taper heater for use with either gas or induction pre-heaters. Using a servo-controlled billet positioning system to deliver both accuracy and high speed, the Booster enables extruders to boost billet temperature, line speed and hence production rates.• Can be retro-fitted to existing extrusion lines heated by gas • Provides greater control of billet quality thus improving productivity • Uses proven Inductotherm Lfi series low frequency IGBT inverters • Reduced billet scrap rate means improved market competitiveness and greater profits Depending on the application and the size of the billets being produced, the induction coil is graded to provide the required fixed taper gradient. The standard taper is 10 deg C per 100mm which is equivalent to 55 deg F per foot with a starting temperature of 350 deg C (662 deg F). |
