The powerful combination of advanced engineering, attention to detail and 50 years experience in induction heating has helped Radyne become world leaders in the production of medium and high-frequency induction power supplies. The new TF range from Radyne offers the user a selection of power and frequency combinations suitable for most induction heating applications. The availability of the latest IGBT power semi-conductors with faster switching characteristics has permitted Radyne to produce a new induction power supply design ideally suited to induction heating applications between 3 to 50 kHz.

Performance
The performance of the TF series tuned-output circuit is easily matched to the work load by selecting the appropriate output tapping and amount of capacitance built into the power supply to suit the required induction coil configuration. This optimization of performance allows the TF to deliver full power and maximum efficiency operating at, or close to, the natural resonance of the external working circuit

Operation
High impedance units feature an internal matching transformer and both high and low impedance units have an adjustable capacitor bank for load coil matching. Operation can be by direct manual controls on the unit, from a remote control box or PLC. A built-in timer provides an adjustable range of heat cycle times.

Control
During converter operation, panel mounted analog meters continuously display actual power (kW), frequency (kHz), output current (I) and voltage (V). Critical running parameters are continually monitored and, if fault conditions are detected, the converter is automatically shut down. Status indication and matching assistance is provided by front panel LEDs. These signals are readily available for interface with an external host system to provide diagnostic facilities.
