Radyne Induction Scanning Systems for Heat Treating

Solutions Since Radyne introduced the first pc controlled scanning systems in the 80's we have continued to innovate with highly flexible scanning systems with integrated quenching for hardening, tempering and annealing applications world wide.   Radyne produces a complete line of scanners and popups handling small to large parts that will increase your part durability and performance by precisely controlling hardening patterns throughout the part..

FlexScan - Rugged, Reliable, EconomicalFlexscan

Radyne breaks new ground by delivering the most affordable scanner in the marketplace. Flexscan is the ideal scanner for small parts.

Initially designed for heat-treating processes in both in-place or scan hardening and tempering, the Radyne FlexScan can be adapted for different heat-treating and brazing applications.

Due to it's modular design, the base Flexcan system may be easily adapted to suit different induction heating processes including, but not limited to, heat treating, brazing and soldering, shrink fitting, and even bar-end heating for forging. As in other Radyne trademark products, the FlexScan incorporates only non-ferrous materials in the built-in modular quench and water recirculating systems.

Operators interface features a full color HMI with embedded controls. The modular design provides for simplicity in diagnostics and maintenance – and arranged so the system is easily adapted into various production arrangements.

Optional light curtains are also available.

Compact Production Hardening System

The STATISCAN® IV can be configured as a two or four spindle vertical-scanner or high production lift/rotate machine for hardening and tempering a wide variety of parts.

Self-Contained Design With Heat Station/Power Supply

The STATISCAN® IV system features a built-in transistorized solid state power supply with heat station, programmable scanner, control and quench recirculating system. This unitized construction reduces floor space 50-80% compared to conventional systems.

Special Features To Speed Changeover

A user-friendly keyboard on the STATISCAN® IV provides quick set-up, changeover and diagnostics capability. Transformer taps are changed with an externally accessible switch. To simplify set-up, upper tooling centers can be adjusted without tools. A selection of standard Insta-Change inductor mountings are also available to minimize changeover time.

Rugged Design For Dependable Production

The STATISCAN® IV system is manufactured to exacting international standards. Scanning towers are machined from aluminum plates with hardened chrome plated shaft and a stainless steel guidebar. Variable speed DC motors ensure precise control of the scan and rotation speeds.

ScanMasterScanMaster

For larger parts, Radyne offers it's ScanMaster line of Induction Scanners.  These systems start where the FlexScan leaves off and range in size up to 66" of Maximum Part Scan Length.

Radyne's ScanMaster components can be incorporated together or separately to meet the specific needs of the heat treater. These user friendly, PC-compatible controlled systems provide for easy system set up, production monitoring, on-board fault logging and diagnostics. The computer directs simultaneous control of scan speeds (0-12 inches [305 mm] per second), rotation speeds (0-250 rpm), heat levels, heat times, quench times, time delays, and six additional user custom digital outputs.

ScanMaster - 44XTH

Accommodates a 44 inch (1118 mm) part with a 40inch (1016 mm) scan ability in a single or dual position.

ScanMaster - 60XT
Accommodates a 60 inch (1524 mm) part with a 60 inch (1524 mm) scan ability in a single or dual position.

The Power Integrated ScanMaster units include integrated solid state induction power supplies that range from 60 to 225 kW/10 or 30 kHz. The extremely compact floor plan makes these units ideal for incorporation into an automated work cell or dedicated production line.

Power Integrated Horizontal ScanMaster

Radyne’s Power Integrated Horizontal ScanMaster is a self contained induction heat-treating system for shaft hardening. This compact package includes a modern transistorized power supply, non-ferrous quench and cooling system, servo-drive and user friendly Microsoft® WindowsTM XP PC-compatible control of all system variables to maintain close tolerance of heat-treated parts in a paperless environment. The system is designed to meet the stringent requirements of continuous or zone heat treating and allows simple integration with automation. If necessary, the Horizontal ScanMaster can also be configured to work with an independent power supply. Quality part monitoring is achieved with the optional Radyne PC-compatible QAS 2000TM system to continuously track, in real time, multiple, graphically-displayed process variables. Data collection and logging is maintained for future SPC analysis.

QAS2000 Quality Assurance System

Real time process monitoring provides for cost savings by offering an alternative to conventional, random sampling, and destructive testing. Simultaneous measuring of up to 8 (16 optional) process parameters at rates up to 100 samples per second data sampling (each one of the samples actually represents 10 samples), the Quality Assurance system can provide  trending  analysis or facilitate process variable troubleshooting.

Sensors typically measure induction heating power in kW, part rotation, scan speed, quench flow, quench temperature, water temperature, generator voltage, and part temperature.

As a stand alone unit, the QAS 2000 has a compact floor plan and can be easily added to any type of heating system that requires process monitoring. This software is now available as an integrated part of the Radyne ScanMaster controls. The QAS 2000 Quality Assurance system meets the needs of those requiring "real time" quality assurance data to ensure quality posts and record keeping of all data sensed from the induction heating system.

Power Integrated Pop up

Radyne's compact power integrated pop up is a self contained single shot system for induction hardening and induction tempering components. Using a lift/rotate, submerged quench method the pop up is designed to meet your specific heating requirements. The integrated transistorized power supplies range from 75 kW to 225 kW/3, 10 or 30 kHz. With two or three position capability, spindle rotation from 0-200 RPM and spindle load up to 150 pounds this system is easily integrated into a cell manufacturing line for high volume processing. A user friendly touch screen operator interface panel and PLC control enables quick and easy set up. Adding Radyne's QAS 2000 Quality Assurance system completes a work cell that represents the latest in induction heat treating technology.
